LIZ WALKER, Speaker at the Martin Luther King Breakfast.
Sat, 01/30/2010 - 9:37am
After an amazing career in Boston television, Liz Walker has taken her career to a higher level. She has responded to the call of God to enter the Christian ministry, completed her theological education at Harvard Divinity School, and begun her ministry as a member of the staff of Bethel African Methodist Church in Boston.
As part of this ministry she has traveled several times to the Sudan in Africa where she and Rev. Dr. Gloria White-Hammond, co-Pastor of Bethel, have been working to bring peace and relief to the Darfur area of that nation. Her latest visit has been in December, 2009. She has produced a film documenting the problems in Darfur and what Bostonians have been doing to meet this severe human crisis.
Liz now has her own show on at 11:30 am on Sunday for those who are unable to attend church or can record it while they are at church. She is doing a series of programs on health for Blue Cross-Blue Shield. She has formed her own media company The Walker Group to produce these and other projects.
